Mustangs Return to Form in 101–59 Rout of ACPHS

Albany, NY — After what their coach described as an "uncharacteristic" performance the night before, the Mustangs returned to its standard of play on Wednesday, dispatching the Albany College of Pharmacy Panthers 101–59 in Yankee Conference action.

The Mustangs came out with focus and urgency, putting up 29 points in each of the first two quarters to build a commanding 58–27 halftime lead. Fourteen different players scored in the victory, led by redshirt first-year Hunter Hartsgrove, who tallied 15 points in 18 minutes. Ava Smith and Josie Friend chipped in 13 points each; Friend added 7 rebounds while Smith pulled down 8 boards and collected 3 steals.

Caitlyn McCoy contributed 12 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Point guard Abilene Corson set the tone with 9 assists, 6 steals, and zero turnovers—an elite floor game on both ends. As a team, CMCC forced 45 turnovers and racked up 24 assists.

"Tonight looked a lot more like us," said Head Coach Andrew Morong. "Last night was tough to watch, but we responded the right way. We played with great energy, took pride in outworking our opponent, and got back to dominating the offensive glass—something that had slipped a bit since the break."

The Mustangs (15–0, 7–0 Yankee Conference) wrap up their three-game road trip on Thursday with a 1:00 p.m. matchup against Vermont State University Randolph.
