Portland, ME - After a long pre-season the Mustangs finally were able to start the season off in winning ways beating St Joseph's College 7-3.
Right from the beginning the Mustangs put relentless pressure on the opponent and kept this pressure for a large chunk of the game. "We worked on being fast and being in shape. Today our whole roster bought in to moving their feet and playing with speed and patience and it delivered some quality hockey," said Coach Knoren.
The Mustangs would make a couple defensive errors to let St. Joes back into the game, but after producing a solid 3rd period the Mustangs would be able to celebrate their first win.
Knoren added, ''Our coaching staff couldn't be prouder of the way our guys played opening night, however we won't sit back and get comfortable. There is room for plenty of improvement.''
