2025-26: As a sophomore, played in 13 games making 9 starts… Scored 3 goals and added 2 assists. Found the back of the net in both games vs UMaine-Augusta, scoring once at home in a 4-0 win and tallying a brace on the road in a 7-0 win in the regular season finale. Had an assist vs Word of Life. Set up the team’s only goal in a YSCC Tournament loss to SMCC… Helped team finish as #2 seed in YSCC East Division.
2024-25: As a freshman, selected YSCC All-Conference... Played in 13 games scoring 6 goals and adding 4 assists in 12 starts... Finished second on team in goals, assists, points, and shots... Scored first collegiate goals in back-to-back games against NCAA DIII opponents Maine Maritime Academy and Thomas College... Had first multi-goal game vs Vermont State University-Randolph. Also scored home and away against UMaine Augusta... Had a three-game scoring streak from October 1st to October 7th, registering 11 points in that span... Part of a squad that went unbeaten in YSCC regular season for the first time in school history.
Prior to CMCC: Graduated from Maine Central Institute. Played soccer all four years for the Huskies. Varney scored more than 100 goals during her four seasons for MCI. She was KVAC Player of the Year her junior season, and a 1st-Team All-KVAC selection as a sophomore, junior, and senior. Team captain as a junior and senior and a two-time Maine Soccer Coaches Association Northern Maine Class C Regional All-Star selection… Also played tennis all four years, did indoor and outdoor track as a junior and senior, and played basketball as a freshman… Played club soccer for Central Maine United in 2022 and River City FC in 2023 and 2024.
Personal: Parents are Scott and Rochelle Varney. Both parents played college soccer with her mom suiting up for Husson University and her dad playing for Maine Maritime Academy. Siblings are Ethan and Devon.
