Auburn, ME – The Central Maine Community College Women's Ice Hockey team has been made a full member of the Independent Women's Club Hockey League (IWCHL) ahead of the 2025-26 season. The Mustangs will compete in the six-team Adirondack Division North along with UMaine, Bates, UNE, Norwich, and UMass Lowell.
"We're extremely excited," said head coach Doug Dieuveuil. "It's a chance to expand our program and test ourselves against good competition. It's important to offer our players the chance to play post-season hockey. Now that we're officially full member, we can do that."
CMCC competed as an associate member of the IWCHL in its inaugural 2024-25 campaign. The Mustangs finished the season with a 7-5-0 overall record and went 5-4-0 against IWCHL opponents.
Under league rules, CMCC will be required to play each of its divisional rivals twice during the upcoming season, with a chance to qualify for the IWCHL playoffs.
