The Lady Mustangs was comprised of a talented group of players. Jamie Auger of Lewiston was the inspirational leader on and off the court. As co-captain this point guard led the team in assists and averaged 14 points per game. Kelley West of Gorham returned from injury to lead the team in scoring (I 8.5ppg) and in rebounding. Abby Peaslee of Belfast averaged 17.7ppg and almost 15 rebounds. At one time she led the country in scoring and rebounding. Georgia Riggs of Monmouth brought her winning attitude and aggressive play to the team. She usually guarded the opponents top scoring threat and averaged 8 points per game. Mandy Jack of Buckfield fame was a steady performer and intricate part of the teams? success. Not flashy, Mandy made few mistakes and played great defense. Sara Murphy of Leeds provided consistent play on a daily basis. This level headed player logged many minutes, pulled down big rebounds while averaging 9.5 points per game. Cassie Brooks of Auburn joined the team at the break and was an instant smash. Her tough stylish play was just what the Lady Mustangs needed. Cassie rarely got a break, averaging 10 points per game. Another late season addition, Maren Muzzy of Greenville played an important role to the teams success. Maren played every position on the floor and never complained once about it. Maren always put the team before herself. The ultimate team player, she averaged 5 points per game. Dawn Seymore and Taryn Leblanc contributed to the team during the first semester.
This team has to be commended by the way it held together through adverse times (injuries and sickness). What has happened here is very special, something that will be passed on to every future Lady Mustang team and player. It?s hard work, its dedication, its persistence, its family. ITS CM PRIDE!
