AUBURN - Katie Martin poured in 13 points and Danielle Hebert added 12 as Central Maine Community College advanced to the Yankee Small College Conference championship with a 72-45 victory over New Hampshire Technical Institute on Saturday.
The Mustangs (15-5) led wire-to-wire and dominated on both ends of the court, holding the Lynx (10-17) to three field goals in the first half and shot 36 percent from the floor to the Lynx's 19 percent. Kayla Ellis accounted for eight assists and five steals. Alex Donald registered eight points and Carrie Hayden and Sara Martin scored seven apiece.
Jess Hardiman led the Lynx with 11 points and Ashley Harris contributed nine.
The Mustangs will defend their YSCC title against Southern Maine Community College on Sunday at 12 p.m. The winner will earn a berth in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association national tournament.
