AUBURN, ME - Sara Martin torched the nets for a game-high 19 points as Central Maine Community College began their defense of the Yankee Conference title with a 67-51 win over New Hampshire Technical Institute on Thursday.
The Mustangs (1-1) opened up a 10 point advantage in the closing minutes of the first half and never looked back. Danielle Hebert was solid on both ends of the floor and finished with 10 points.
Teira Durgin and Kayla Ellis created havoc on the defensive end and each finished with nine points while Christy McAuliffe added eight and Katie Martin seven. Freshman Carrie Hayden was solid off the bench with five points.
Moriah Mahala led the Lynx (1-5) with 12 points Jess Hardiman added 11 and Ashley Harris scored 10.
