2025-26: As a junior, played in 17 games, making two starts and scoring one goal and adding three assists… Scored his lone goal of the season, and the game-winner, with a penalty kick in the third minute of a 7-0 victory over York County on senior night… Provided the assist to Matthew Greco in a 1-1 tie on the road against UMaine-Fort Kent (USCAA DI). Also had assists vs UMaine-Augusta and Paul Smith’s… Appeared in four of the Mustangs’ five postseason games, as CMCC won its fifth straight YSCC Tournament title and second straight USCAA DII National Championship… Was also the CMCC Resident Life Council President.
2024-25: As a sophomore, played in 18 games scoring three goals and adding two assists... Named to the USCAA DII All-Tournament Team after scoring two goals and adding an assist in the national championship match, a 7-0 win over #2 Central Penn College... Also scored a goal and registered an assist in a 9-1 win at Hampshire College on September 14th... Registered a season-high four shots vs UMaine Augusta... Made two starts on the season, vs UMaine Augusta and at NHTI, and saw majority of action off the bench using his speed to hamper opponents playing out of the back, and looking for chances to get through on net.
2023-24: As a freshman, played in 12 games and tallied two goals and one assist. Scored first collegiate goal vs UMaine-Augusta on October 4th in a 9-0 win. Had an assist vs Hampshire on October 14th in a 10-0 win. Scored vs Paul Smith’s College in the YSCC semifinals on November 4th in a 4-1 win.
Prior to CMCC: Graduated from Erskine Academy. Played soccer and baseball all four years for the Eagles… Was a team captain, and helped the squad win the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B championship in 2021 and 2022. Was a Class B South 1st-Team All-KVAC selection and won the team’s Coaches Award.
Personal: Parents are Sean and Jennifer Boynton. Has two sisters, Carea and Maddy. Maddy was a softball player at CMCC from 2019-22… Away from the field, Sam loves the outdoors, going camping, and being around his friends.
