Rutland, VT – A lackluster road performance stung the Mustangs Saturday as they visitors were trounced by the College of St Joe's by a 101-73 score. Down by 3 points at the half, CM couldn't hold back the running Fighting Saints as they put five players in double figures running away with the second half by a 53-31 margin.
It is a cop out to blame a team's failures on injuries. However, one cannot overlook the fact the Mustangs have played the last two games with four of the starting five down, or attempting to play while injured. Conversely, the injury situation does allow others the opportunity to step up. Sheveran Hardy and Quinn Mitchell have been two who stepped up all weekend and helped the team move forward.
As the squad prepares for the Yankee Tournament, other players need to pick their game up and play at a higher level.
